It was a long time in the making, but MeVisLab 3.5 is finally here!
The 3.5 release of the MeVisLab SDK software comes with a new build system for C++ code based on CMake instead of qmake. We also revamped how we build third-party libraries, and updated a lot of them to a current version. The most obvious of these libraries is Python, where we switched to the 3.9 line (3.10 was a little bit too fresh for our taste).
Apart from this MeVisLab comes with the usual assorted bug fixes and improvements to various functionality. A notable addition in this version is the new DicomImport module - it may not have feature parity with the venerable DirectDicomImport yet, but we will work on it for the next releases.
As always we invite you to give feedback on this release, especially regarding the new build system (if you use it). Our forum is the best channel to give this feedback.
See the MeVisLab Release Notes for details on all improvements and changes.
Supported platforms:
- On Windows we provide a Visual Studio 2019 version.
- For Linux we provide a version that has been compiled and tested on Ubuntu 20.04. It was also tested with Ubuntu 22.04 and should work with other current Linux distributions.
- The macOS version is currently on hold; for the time being macOS users need to stick with the 3.4.2 version.
The MeVisLab 3.5 Stable Release is available for download for Windows and Linux at the MeVisLab Download page.
